Papilionanda Chua Chu Kang
Named in honor of the Chua Chu Kang constituency, Papilionanda Chua Chu Kang was registered in 2015 by Toh Garden with the Royal Horticultural Society. Its distinguished parentage combines Vanda Kultana Red with Papilionanda Josephine van Brero. This connection feels especially meaningful to me, as Chua Chu Kang is also where I live - making this vibrant orchid not just a symbol of the area, but a living emblem of home. As orchids are celebrated as part of Singapore's rich botanical heritage, this bloom takes on added significance each National Day, reflecting the nation's spirit of resilience, unity, and beauty in diversity.
